Summerjam
2003… es geht los
Freitag, 4. Juli 2003,es
ist 15:00 , wir haben unsere Zelte und den Pavillon aufgebaut und unser
kleines “Büro“ eingerichtet. Nach anfänglichen Regenschauern
ist es nun einigermaßen erträglich.
Das Polizeiaufgebot ist,
wie angekündigt, massiv und die in Grün Gekleideten sind bestimmt
nicht die einzigen Ordnungshüter, die hier übers Gelände
schreiten.
Nach Cashma Hoody kam auf
der Red Stage (Haptbühne) die Begrüßungsrede von Andrew
Murphy, dem Master of Ceremony aus Barbados. Hier eine kleine Zusammenfassung
auf Englisch, da wir Teile seiner Ansprache wörtlich übernehmen
wollen und die englische Sprache wie so oft eine bessere Ausdrucksmöglichkeit
bietet:

„I and I have
to be thankful that the city of Cologne allowed us to organize another
Summer Jam festival this year. Please support the organisation team and
the whole festival by keeping this wonderful place clean and safe.
Everytime I`m coming here
it`s like coming home for me, because I was born on a small island surrounded
by water and covered with the smiles of its beautiful people.
I hope that the spirit will
always stay in this beautiful place and that the people that visit this
convent will always spread love and peace into the cold world in which
we are seated right here in this region.

However , try and help to
make the festival live on, don’t break the rules and have great three days
with reggae music and celebrate the 18.Summerjam, so that one day I will
still be able to stand right here on this stage, holding a stick in my
hand to support my old body, shouting out loud: It’s Summerjam-time again
!

Jetzt geht es gleich weiter
mit Dubblestandart , auch auf der Green Stage läuft schon das Programm.
Deshalb heisst es für die RootZ Crew nicht weiter zu schreiben, sondern
Musik hören, tanzen, fotografieren und geniessen.
